Heroes of the sword

The portable exhibits in the showcases, historical and iconographic testimonies of the portrayed, as well as selected weapons of the Struggle, converse with the figures in the medallions, recreating in an imposing manner the context in which they acted.

This official «heroon» of the Struggle is complemented by emblematic fighters of the Revolution on land and at sea, such as Ioannis Makrygiannis and Iakovos Tombazis, the heroines par excellence Laskarina Bouboulina and Mando Mavrogenous, together with eponymous Philhellenes who participated actively in the military operations of the Greek Revolution, such as Byron, Fabvier, Gordon.
